Vexel is a workout and nutrition tracking app. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean the Vexel team. Questions about this policy can go to admin@vexel-app.com.
Vexel stores your workouts, programs, food log, recipes, body measurements, awards and settings on your phone. If you never create an account, this is all there is, and none of it leaves your device unless you choose to share it (see "Sharing" below).
Progress photos and your profile picture are saved only on your phone. We do not upload them and cannot see them. A normal iPhone backup may include them.
If you choose to create an account, we collect your email address and a password. Sign-in is handled by Google's Firebase Authentication service. We never see or store your password in readable form.
When you are signed in, Vexel saves a backup of your data to our database, which runs on Google Firebase. The backup includes:
The backup exists only so you can restore your data on a new or reinstalled phone. We do not read it, analyze it, or use it for any other purpose.
If you connect Apple Health, Vexel reads your body weight to show your weight chart, and can save a weigh-in to Apple Health when you log one. You choose what Vexel can access, and you can change it any time in iPhone Settings, under Health, then Data Access & Devices, then Vexel. We do not use Apple Health data for advertising or marketing, and we do not sell it.
Vexel uses the camera to scan food barcodes and to take progress photos. Choosing photos from your library uses Apple's photo picker, which only gives Vexel the photos you select.
When you scan a barcode, Vexel sends that barcode number to Open Food Facts (openfoodfacts.org), a public food database, to look up nutrition information. No personal information is included, though their servers may see your IP address like any website you visit.
Subscriptions and purchases are handled by Apple. We do not receive your payment details. Vexel only learns whether you have an active Premium subscription or lifetime purchase on your Apple ID.
We do not use advertising, analytics or tracking tools. We do not collect your location, contacts, or browsing activity.
We use Google Firebase (Authentication and Firestore database) to run accounts and backups. Google processes this data for us and handles it under its own privacy and security terms, and may process technical information such as your IP address when your phone connects. Our backup database is located in the United States. Apple provides purchases, Apple Health and the App Store. Open Food Facts provides barcode lookups. We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
Vexel never shares your data automatically. Sharing features only send something when you tap a share button and choose who receives it. For example, you can send a stats report, a program, or a Summit Pact progress code to a friend through Messages or another app. What you send is visible to the people you send it to. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
We keep your backup until you delete your account. If you never create an account, we hold nothing about you.
Data is sent over encrypted connections and stored using Google's security protections, and each account can only access its own backup. No service can promise perfect security, so please use a strong, unique password.
Vexel is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Depending on where you live, including California, the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your information, and to object to or restrict how it is used. You can delete your data yourself in the app, or email us at admin@vexel-app.com and we will help. If you are in the EEA or UK, we process your data to provide the app you asked for, and we handle health-related information based on your consent. We do not sell or share personal information for advertising.
Vexel provides general fitness and nutrition information. Calorie and macro targets are estimates for adults, not medical advice. Talk to a doctor or dietitian before making big changes to your exercise or eating, especially if you have a health condition, are pregnant, or have a history of disordered eating.
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app.
